  1. There were events in William Shakespeare's life that some people don't know. Initially, he was supposed to be the third child in his family but since both of his older siblings died of infancy, he got considered as the oldest of them. In addition, one of his twins, Hamnet, died at the age of eleven years old. Furthermore, the first time his name got recognized as a professional was when Robert Greene mentioned him (in his deathbed testament) as an actor and a playwright. Finally, Shakespeare was pretty interesting, not just a writer but also as a person.

  3. There's many interesting facts about William Shakespeare that people don't know. Besides, being a great poet and playwright, Shakespeare has a pretty fascinating life. Since, women were not allowed to act back then, there are many theories that Juliet could have been played by a male. Also, in the play,Juliet is a 13 years of age, In addition, some original documents of Shakespeare's signature survived and he spelled his name quite different from the way we believe his name is spelled. For example, Shakespe, Shakspe, Shakspere and Shakespear were some of the ways he spelled it.

  16. Romeo and Juliet, alongside Hamlet, is probably Shakespeare’s most performed play and has also been adapted in many forms. Many of Shakespeare’s plays are based on others’ earlier plays, histories, and poems. This was common practice at that time. The first definite reference to Shakespeare as a playwright is in a pamphlet by Robert Greene, who wrote, “There is an upstart Crow, beautified with our feathers, that with his Tiger’s heart wrapped in a Player’s hide, supposes he is as well able to bombast out a blank verse as the best of you: and being an absolute Johannes fac totum, is in his own conceit the only Shake-scene in a country.”
